Dental prevention

Dental prevention is a set of techniques and methods that allow us to maintain the health of our teeth and prevent the onset of problems such as cavities, gum disease and tooth loss.

Some dental prevention techniques include:

  • Brushing your teeth at least twice a day with a toothbrush and toothpaste that contain fluoride
  • Using dental floss to remove plaque and food that has accumulated between your teeth
  • Replacing your toothbrush every three months
  • Avoiding or limiting the intake of sugary foods and drinks
  • Regular visits to the dentist for check-ups and professional cleanings

By following these simple but important rules, you can keep your teeth healthy and prevent the onset of dental problems.

How to brush your teeth correctly

Brushing your teeth is a fundamental habit for maintaining the health of our mouth and preventing the onset of cavities and other dental diseases.

To brush your teeth effectively, it is important to use a soft-bristled toothbrush and toothpaste that contains fluoride. It is advisable to brush your teeth at least twice a day, once in the morning and once before going to sleep, passing the toothbrush over each individual tooth and paying particular attention to the junction between the teeth and the gums.

It’s also important to floss every day to remove plaque and food that has built up between your teeth. Don’t forget to replace your toothbrush every three months and go to the dentist regularly for a check-up and professional cleaning. By following these simple but important rules, you can keep your teeth healthy and prevent the onset of cavities.

The use of dental floss

To floss correctly, start by taking a 18-inch length of floss and wrapping one end around a finger on each hand. Use the floss to carefully clean the seam between the teeth, being careful not to apply too much pressure to avoid damaging the gums.

Move the floss back and forth, up and down, to remove plaque and food accumulated between the teeth.

Don’t forget to also clean the back of the teeth in the back of your mouth.

When you are finished, rinse the floss and your oral cavity thoroughly to remove any residue. Flossing at least once a day can help maintain the health of your teeth and prevent the onset of cavities and other dental diseases.
